Today, we time travel. Pain has a way of making it possible. Eleven years fly past and we discover that some hurts don't disapate as readily as we'd prefer. We return to the dazzling pain and feel one with New York City and its resilient, creative, influential, and much admired residents. WE send healing LOVE to New York City.
Frau Kolb made a video today, of a sticker book she made when we visited the city, in the aftermath of the attack. Her husband and Frau Kolb made a documentary which featured footage by the late great, Franz Harland. We miss him and the towers. We morn the lose of life and the destructive streak that may define being yet is never to be celebrated. Evil is NOT a color in the rainbow. The shadow of violence lingers. We, somehow, continue to learn to love life despite the fact that LIFE is punctuated by DEATH.
The magnitude of pain eperienced by New Yorkers when returning to that day during which all sense of security vanished. We became different people and our naition chnaged, as well. It is NOT the same coutnry that it was.
Perhaps we are coming to terms with the fact that change is all we ever know. Buildings, big and small all are destinined to ruin. Haiving studied art history at Columbia University Frau Kolb is well aware of the flimsy nature of civililaztion. Civilizattions rise and fall. Empires bloom and contract like morninglories, fading, crashing in on themselves as the day blossoms.
We find ourselves constantly arriving at right NOW! This moment is precious and we share it. There is NO PAST. Spiritual teachers assure us of these indelible truths. The future is brimming with immaterial appeal. Yet, we can connect only experience connection and cooperation in present tense exchanges of understanding and mutual admiration.
I've set out to learn about ART. This is my life's mission. This web-site is the product of this deep interest in ART. This web-site is an invitation to explore ART WORLD with me, Frau Kolb.
I am an artist. Yet, the work of other artists ignites my curiosity and motivates me to travel, seek, research, dig, and dive DEEPER and DEEPER into the experience of ART NOW.
The boundaries of ART, time, space, and the limitations of materials excite in me the desire to push and probe into the outer edges of the art world off-center. To explore meaning, beyond my own production, to capture a pin prick's worth of the art universe and share it with YOU!
