Dear Friends,

To end the year, I shed nearly two thousand Facebook “friends.”  I did this because, The Talkinggrid is my gift to ALL that would like to learn more about “the artist’s perspective,” on LIFE, love, and politics, even... from a source that is no-where-near mainstream and is always fresh, pure, and intimate.  Here you get cozy art-chats, interviews, with artists that Frau Kolb has selected for their personal charm, charisma, and the magnetism of their extraordinary work.  In other words, Talkinggrid is focused on great artists, yet NOT the hyper endorsed, super mega-money STARS of the ART UNIVERSE but better, artists which WE at Talkinggrid personally endorse and support.  Some happen to be pretty famous, but we don’t hold that against them, eitherYOU are welcome to follow our art adventures and alternative news coverage in 2013 and beyond!

YES!  YOU are invited to visit Talkinggrid regularly and dive into the pools of surprise we are planning.  We have a whole calendar of possibility and ideas we want to play with, in PUBLIC, and for the public good, and we’d LOVE for you to share in our JOY for art and LIFE!

In addition, I’ve lost weight.  I am now fitting into those silver jeans which I could not get past my thighs for two years!  I lost weight NOT by dieting strictly, butt by walking and exercising.  This means: my muscle tone is good and I am looking and feeling very healthy.  (Please keep in mind that, eating and feeding my family and friends quality food  is one of my top priorities.  WE eat mostly organic, fresh, home-cooked meals.   I LOVE kale and wheatgrass in my daily morning smoothy.  Bok Choy is good, in our Goji berry packed morning-smoothies, too.  Furthermore, we eat little red meat.  Since, we know that it isn’t the healthiest choice for me or the planet.  To protect and maintain our health I cook, at home.  Except for when I go out for oysters and Champagne.)

Anyway, I am happy enough considering that 2012 was not an easy year.  This was the year of Aurora.  This was the year of the Newtown Slaughter.  The people that were mowed down, their screams, are faintly audible... perhaps.  NOT.  Those people, their lives ended this year and we feel the a little of the pain which the families and friends of the murdered must experience everyday.  I pray for them.  I hope that miraculous healing occurs in their lives, somehow, and that they will be able to continue living with loving and trusting feelings in their hearts.  May they receive worlds of angelic support in reconstructing their lives in 2013 and beyond.  “May the be blessed from NOW ON!” is our wish!

WE feel strongly that the second amendment was not written to empower the insane to mass slaughter.  May the deaths of so many innocents wake the nation UP to the need to end easy access to instruments of automatic DEATH!  NOW!

There was, also, hurricane Sandy.  She crashed into Manhattan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania... the tri-state area, which I love SO MUCH was hit with a force that shocked us, all over America, sparking debate about environmental responsibility and global warming.  I felt---personally---invaded, flooded, hurt by the storm’s force.  I cried over the anxiety that my best friend, on the brink of giving birth, in NYC might suffer any indignity while bringing her firstborn son into the world.  (The boy was elegantly born, as soon as the lights came back on and is THRIVING; breast-fed Delight, that he is. Thank goodness!  I love her and him, as my family.)

Another heartwarming story is Ola Manana’s story of her sister’s incredible act of human kindness by donating a kidney to her ailing neighbor.  We have reason to continue believing in the good.

Now, WE at Talkinggrid wish YOU Einen Guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr

which means, “a good slip into the new year,” in German, (the language which I have adopted and studied for thirteen years with increasing focus, as I find it fascinating and FUN!)   WE wish you a lovely, slow-motion, and black-tie SLIP into pools of Champagne and healthy food, and happy times with people YOU LOVE and that LOVE your right back with equal, if not more, intensity.  Please don’t slip off any fiscal cliffs in the process of partying like a ROCKSTAR as YOU slide across the threshold of this moment and into the voluptuous NEXT!

Amen.

Sincerely yours,

Frau Kolb
